Napoli -The Fisherman and His Bride, a ballet set in Naples, Italy, tells the story of a young girl named Teresina who falls in love with Gennaro, a fisherman. The tale culminates in the marriage of the lovers.
Napoli was created by choreographer and ballet master August Bournonville for Denmark's Royal Ballet, and first performed in 1842. The music, by various composers that Bournonville commissioned, were instructed to show the “brightness and dynamism” of Naples, include a galop and tarantella.

Several ballets named Ondine have been inspired by Melusine, a feminine spirit of fresh waters in sacred springs and rivers from European legends and folklore.
In 1843 choreographer Jules Perrot, with music by Cesare Pugni, staged Ondine, ou La naïade. The title role was danced by Fanny Cerrito and Perrot himself played the beloved mortal.
