Manuel Lisa was a fur trader who sent out John Colter to explore the upper Missouri region.

Martín Ignacio de Loyola

d. 1606; Buenos Aires
Franciscan friar Martín Ignacio de Loyola is best remembered as the first person to complete the world circumnaivation twice.
The first expedition, 1580-1584, was in the westerly direction, the second (1585-1589) was in the easterly direction.
He is also the most traveled man in the 17th century when another two trips between Europe and South America are taken into account.
FYI ~ Martín Ignacio de Loyola was the grand nephew of Ignatius of Loyola.
