Discipline Posters
|
Child Dev & Parenting Posters Index > DISCIPLINE < motivational < social studies
The word discipline comes from the Latin disciplina “instruction”, from the root discere “to learn,” and from which discipulus “disciple, pupil” derive.
Self-discipline is the training one gives one's self to accomplish a certain task or to adopt a particular pattern of behaviour, even though more pleasant activities are available.
“Discipline” in school refers either to ‘regulation of children and the maintenance of order’, or to the ‘sphere of knowledge’ that is being studied.
