Luisa Tetrazzini was a coloratura soprano who enjoyed a successful opera and concert career in America and Europe during the 1890s through the 1920s. She is also associated with the city of San Francisco where she resided for years.
The dish ‘Tetrazzini’, which consists of chicken or fish with mushrooms in a creme sauce served over pasta, is named after her.

She was known as one of the “Baby Ballerinas” (along with Baronova and Riabouchinska) and appeared in Hollywood movies.

Her signature song is the jazz standard “Some of These Days”, and also the title of her autobiography.
