Periodic Law
of Chemical Elements
by Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleyeev
|
A periodic table is a tabular method of displaying chemical elements, or a pure chemical substances, consisting of one type of atom distinguished by its atomic number, which is the number of protons in its nucleus.
The layout of the periodic table of chemical elements was first devised by the Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869. The format illustrated the pattern that occurs when elements are arranged in order of increasing atomic mass, chemical, and physical properties.
The table has been refined to include properties and elements discovered since Mendeleev, as have other layouts been created to clarify and emphasize different behaviors.
The original periodic table layout is so familiar an icon that it is used as a design element to suggest codification of other disciplines.

Sound Spectrum Chart
All sounds are vibrations. A vibrating guitar string moves the air and repoduces sound. This unique chart presents easy-to-understand ingredients of sound including pitch, tone, pressure and vibration. An 11" X 17" activity guide provides ideas for experimentation, particularly suitable for middle grades.
