The musical adaption of Peter Pan, Sir J. M. Barrie's play and novel, has been staged in 1954, 1979, 1990, and 1998. The title character has been played by Mary Martin, Sandy Duncan, and Cathy Rigby in the musical versions. Actresses Maude Adams, Jean Arthur, and Phyllis Calvert have also played Peter Pan on the stage.
