Algeria - Tassili n'Ajjer, National Park, Biosphere Reserve & World Heritage Site is noted for geological formations of eroded sandstone, prehistoric rock art and archaeological sites.
Tassili n'Ajjer means ‘Plateau of the rivers’ referring to a time when the Sahara region was not a desert.

Botswana - Chobe National Park, the first national park in Botswana, has one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa, including 50,000 elephants.
The park has four distinct ecosystems - a lush floodplain with dense woodlands (with elephant damage), two marshlands with a hot, dry grass woodland.
FYI ~ the elephants of Chobe have shorter, brittle tusks, possibly due to a calcium defiency in the soil.
Other parks in Botswana include the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and the Gemsbok National Park.

Côte d'Ivoire - Taï National Park is one of the last areas of primary rainforest in West Africa. It is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (1978) and has World Heritage status (1982) as the home of five threatened species: Pygmy Hippopotamus, Olive Colobus monkeys, Leopards, Chimpanzees and Jentink's Duiker.
The Tai Forest is also a natural reservoir of the Ebola virus.

Egypt is well known for its UNESCO and World Heritage Sites. Here are several natural wonders that are not as well known outside of Egypt.
The Ras Mohemmed Park, on the Red Sea at the southern extreme of the Sinai Peninsula, is home to more than 1000 species of fish, nearly 50 species of star fish, 25 species of sea urchins, more than a 100 species of mollusc and 150 species of crustaceans. The green turtle (Chelonia mydas) and the hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) appear regularly in Ras Mohammad.
The White Desert Park (el-Sahara el-Beida) in western Egypt is an exposed ancient sea-bed. The massive chalk rock formations (inselbergs, German for ‘island mountain’) were formed by eons of sandstorms.
