Composer and songwriter Cole Porter is noted for his sophisticated, bawdy lyrics, clever rhymes and complex forms that made him one of the greatest contributors to the Great American Songbook. His works include the musical comedies Kiss Me, Kate, DuBarry Was a Lady and Anything Goes, as well as songs like "Night and Day", "I Get a Kick out of You", "Well, Did You Evah!" and "I've Got You Under My Skin".

Porter is a part of Tin Pan Alley, the collection of New York City-centered music publishers and songwriters who dominated the popular music of the United States in the late 19th century and early 20th century.
