Helen Keller, best remembered for overcoming the limitations of deafness and blindness, was also an outspoken opponent of war. She was a member of the Socialist Party of America and the Wobblies, campaigned for women's suffrage, workers' rights, and socialism.

U.S. Secretary of State Frank B. Kellogg co-authored the Kellogg-Briand Pact, for which he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1929.

Petra Kelly, one of the founders of the German Green Party, received the Right Livelihood Award (also known as the Alternative Nobel Prize) in 1982 “...for forging and implementing a new vision uniting ecological concerns with disarmament, social justice, and human rights.”

Annie Kenney

d. 7-9-1953; diabetes

Annie Kenney, born into a working class family, worked in a mill where she was paid less than men for the dangerous work (she lost a finger). Kinney, along with Christabel Pankhurst, heckled Winston Churchill in 1905, demanding to know his position on “Votes for Women.”

Two of Kenney's sisters became Montessori teachers.
