Babe, a pig who wants to be a sheep dog, is a 1995 family film adapted from a book by Dick King-Smith.

Balto (1995), an animated/live action movie by Steven Spielberg, is based on the true story of the diphtheria serum run in 1925 to Nome, Alaska. Balto was the name of the lead dog in the final leg of the relay.

Big Red, adapted from the popular novel by Jim Kjelgarrd, is about a beautiful Irish setter that was bought to be trained into champion but prefers to roam the woods.

Bingo is a 1991 film about a runaway dog that saves a little boy’s life, beginning a friendship that crosses the nation. Dogcatchers, kidnappers, hospitals and even prison can’t keep the two best friends apart!

The Biscuit Eater was twice an adaptation of a book by James Street about a German wirehaired pointer named ‘Moreover’ and the two boys who train him to hunt. The dog is called a “biscuit eater” because he naturally only wants to look for his own food, which is not a quality desired in a hunting dog. Street also wrote Goodbye, My Lady, another dog story.

FYI - In the U.S. a biscuit refers to a small leavened soft bread; in different parts of the world a biscuit refers to a harder cookie or cracker, something twice baked. A dog biscuit is a snack for your pup.

Bullet the Wonder Dog was Roy Rogers German Shephard on his television series that aired from late 1951 to mid 1957.
