FYI - it is suggested that the animation antigonist character of Cruella De Vil was based on the actress Talluhah Bankhead who said of herself “My heart is as pure as the driven slush.”

The Ugly Dachshund (1966), a Walt Disney film about a Great Dane who thinks he is a dachshund, is based on a 1938 novel by Gladys Bronwyn Stern.

The premise is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling.

Danny Boy, a highly decorated war dog who is kidnapped by an evil animal abuser is played by “Ace the Wonder Dog”. After days of intentional torture for the man's benefit, Danny Boy almost becomes a vicious killer, but manages to escape with his good personality intact. He embarks on a long and hard journey home, to finally be reunited with his young master, Buzzy. (product information)

Deputy Dawg was an animated deputy sheriff character in the bayous of Mississippi. The cartoon show played between 1959 and 1972.

The Doberman Gang (VHS), is about six dogs, all named after famous bank robbers, who are trained to rob banks.
