A person is a bipedal primate belonging to the mammalian species Homo sapiens (Latin for "wise man" or "knowing man") under the family Hominidae, known as the great apes. Philisophically and legally a person is a being that has self awareness, an identity that persists through time, and is capable of reasoning.  There are approximately 6.6 billion people living on planet Earth in 2007, an increase from the approximately 300 million at the dawn of the first millenium, and 4 billion since 1950.

 People are described as famous when they are recognized for contributions or attributes that distinguishes them from the rest  of humanity - the hunter who has the courage and skills to provide for his companions is famous within his society; infamous indicates the attribution is not flattering, or for actions that are not commendable. A person who attracts attention from the public and/or media is considered a celebrity, the status of being celebrated is sometimes conferred on those who are famous for nothing else than being noticed. Individuals may be famous but not a celebrity- those who have reached international recognition include Albert Einstein and Muhammad Ali; Mickey Mouse is a fictional cartoon celebrity.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?“ and “What do you do?” are infamous opening questions, so here are a some of activities that occupy humanity.
